How our service works

Disabled Bathroom Installers does not design, sell or fit bathrooms. It is a small, free website that finds an installer near you who adapts bathrooms for older and disabled people. This page sets out, step by step, what happens when you ask.

  1. You fill in the form

What you would like done, who will use the bathroom, any grant you are applying for, and the best way to reach you.

  2. We look for a fitter

Someone who works in your postcode area and regularly adapts bathrooms for older and disabled people, including the kind of job you described.

  3. We check with you

Usually within one working day, by phone or email, we give you the firm’s name. They only receive your details after you agree.

  4. They visit and quote

The installer measures the room and sends you a written price. Whether to go ahead is your choice, and any contract is between you and them.

About this website

Disabled Bathroom Installers is an introduction service run online. We do not employ fitters, hold stock or visit homes, and we have no connection with any company whose name is similar to ours.

Things we will not do

  • Ask you for money at any point.
  • Share your details before you say yes, or with more than the single firm we name.
  • Tell you which layout or product is safe for a particular person. An occupational therapist or the installer who has seen the room is the right person for that.
  • Give financial or legal advice. Our pages on grants and VAT are general information only.
  • Add you to a mailing list or ring you with offers.

How the service is funded

The installer may pay us a fee for introducing you. There is no charge to you, and that stays true whether or not you hire them.

Asking on someone else’s behalf

Many requests come from a son, daughter, partner or support worker. That is fine. Please make sure the person is happy for you to ask, and give us the contact details of whoever should arrange the visit.

Where our figures come from

Our prices are national guide ranges, drawn from published UK price guides and public council contracts, with the date we read them. Use them to plan and to compare; the only firm price is a written quote after someone has measured the room. What we say about grants and VAT is general information, not financial or legal advice.
